A beautiful lady and a lion adorn this antique French postcard advertising Royal Muscat apéritif. But what's really special about this card is the backside. At first glance, you'd think it was blank, no big deal. But the French text says "Rub this card with the edge of a silver coin." I rose to the challenge of photographing the invisible!:) I have found a 'used' copy of this card online and I'd be happy to email you a photo of the revealed scene if you'd like. But just imagine ... this picture has been hidden for over a hundred years and YOU could be the first to see it! The scratch-off scene is titled "Ils en boivent tous," which simply means "they all drink." But then again, back "then," ladies drinking in public was a big deal and one of the things I really like about this scene is that my sneak peak tells me that at least two women are included in this happy scenario.
5.5 by 3.5 inches. Any signs of age seem an insult to point out. For a cream colored card: near mint condition!
