Here is a special commemorative for the Joan of Arc collector. This booklet contains 12 stamps (8 missing) marking highlights in the life of Joan of Arc. You may recognize some of these designs that were also turned into postcards! These are not postage stamps but "artistic and social propaganda stamps." Similar to fund-raising stickers or charity seals used on the back of envelopes in the US, these "vignettes" as the French call them don't have any postal value but are highly collectable. "Use these stamps on the back of envelopes or postcards of correspondence," the booklet says. If I'm understanding the text on the front, sales of this booklet were offered at Saint-Denys de la Chapelle, located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, "where Jeanne d'Arc was brought back after being wounded Sept. 8, 1429." Proceeds were to help build/restore the basilica. This set was published in 1931 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Joan's death at Rouen, France.
On the inside back page is a list of other vignettes this company had produced.
Closed and folded, this little booklet measures 5 x 3.5 inches. Each stamp or vignette is about 1 x 2 inches.
