John Wills seems to be one of those artists forgotten by history. Postcards aplenty bear his name, but I couldn't find any biographical information. One thing is certain: Wills had a great sense of humor as well as artistic talent.
Dated verso, 1936, this too cute postcard shows a little girl in her roadster heading out of town. She asks: "I'm leaving for a few days, will I have enough luggage?" (Notice the Morris column in the background.)
Verso, the sender tells Marcelle to "be careful with the luggage." Marcelle was either working at or staying at the Hotel Mont Joye in St. Nicolas de Véroce, a small mountain town in the French Alps at the foot of Mont Blanc.
About 3.5 by 5.5 inches. This card is in fine vintage condition. Wear at the corner tips as to be expected but rich colors and no creases!
