This little girl was one of the most popular postcard models at the turn of the century. How I wish I knew more about her! In this postcard, she's an angel, humbly on one knee with hand on heart. Is this pose paying homage to some of the Italian Renaissance masters and their cherubic paintings? Now, I tried everything I know, photographically and tweaking in Photoshop, and I don't have the miracle it would take to show you what this card will look like in hand. So pretend you hear Abba singing "Take a chance on me" in the background, because I do offer a 'you'll be happy guarantee or return this card' policy. [I've never had a card returned!] The glossy surface is so reflective that any photo or scan, with or without light, shows dust not even visible to the naked eye. Yes, the dark chocolate background shows surface wear and there are some white specks. Just not as glaring as what you see here. Mailed in 1906. About 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
In the last photo, you'll see I have three cards in this series available. Use the word "mandolin" in the search box to bring up all three.
