Russian artist Sergei Solomko (1859-1928) was not much appreciated in his country. The populace loved his fairy tales and romantic mythology themes, but his art wasn't serious enough for the critics. So in 1910 he came to Paris and continued doing what he loved: illustrating postcards. This one is simply titled "Fantasy." Red-orange hair, gray skin and blue wings! This mythical queen flies with her jewels! This postcard is creased. It shows up more clearly verso; the image itself is so strong, I didn't notice the crease until scanning the card. But once I point it out, you'll see it, too: a line that runs from the left edge center, across her wing tip and into the rock fortress in the background. Mailed in Yugoslavia in 1924. Wonderfully saturated colors. Even with the crease, I'd say this card is in very good vintage condition. About 5.5 by 3.5 inches.
