This postcard is the first in a rare series depicting women on horses throughout history. Or, in this mythological case, a woman who is half-horse and half Amazon warrior, a female centaur. I've only seen one other card in the series and it's an Edwardian lady riding side-saddle. The artist's initials in the bottom right corner. Sorry to say, I haven't a clue:( Wonderful color highlights in this mythic scene. Divided back, marked TAW of Paris. I'm guess-timating this card is circa 1904 to pre-WWI. Virtually no surface wear. This card is in overall near mint condition.
Please note that I don't use the word "rare" flippantly. When you can Google an image and only one copy of it shows up on Pinterest, that's a definite gauge of rarity on a world wide web that is drowning in images copied, stolen and passed around. As for myself, I check with the European auction sites that I use and if I can't immediately find another copy among literally millions of postcards, then that warrants the word "rare" in my dictionary.
