This is one of six postcards I have available in the second series of Paris' "Old Cabarets." I'm listing each one separately. Dated 1926 and unused, this card was artist-signed, but it's been cropped off in the printing. If it's any consolation, I can't read the signature even on the cards clearly marked. Each card is identified verso and an address given, so if you'd like more history and information about the cabaret, it should be easy to search online. This one is A La Coquille d'Or (at the Golden Shell). Apparently, "gold" or "golden" was an en vogue 'keyword' for businesses in Paris at this time:) I'm trusting that the labels verso are accurate. I confess, I see the Golden Shell on the card, but the business name? I see "Mson LaLaz." Perhaps that is the hotel above?? I'll leave the sleuthing to you. Please note: all computer monitors are calibrated differently so I just want to specify, the building looks more brown on my screen despite my efforts to show the reddish-pink overtones. Whatever color you're seeing, I feel confident you'll love this card in hand!
Although this postcard is only 92 years old and not technically an antique, it is typical antique postcard size: about 5.5 by 3.5 inches. For its age, in fine condition. Album markings verso help explain its well-preserved condition.
