The glass-beaded postcard was mailed in Belgium in 1901. The "velours-karte" is German-printed, mailed in the Netherlands. Although not postally marked, the undivided back tells us it is circa 1903 or earlier. The velour card seems a wee bit more scratchy than what we think of as velour today:) Glitter specks have been added to the card also. Each card shows its age some but the overall charm is still there! Wonderful examples of hand-detailed cards with extra elements to give texture. Each card is typical antique size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
