This is one of 8 French advertising postcards featuring beautiful Art Nouveau ladies set in a musical theme. This is one of my favorites: a lady playing an accordion accompanied by a green parrot.
The card is artist signed, but unfortunately, just the initials CS.
Circa 1904-1914, this card is unused. There is a hint of a superficial crease in the upper right hand corner (not visible verso), but overall in near mint condition.
In the last two photos you get a glimpse of the rest of the series. These were offered by Phoscao, a French company that produced a chocolate drink that promised to be the perfect elixir for digestion. The text verso says: Le plus exquis des dejeuners, le plus puissant des reconstituants. (The most exquisite of breakfasts, the most powerful of fortifiers.) However, with phosphate as one of the ingredients (mostly used in fertilizers today), I believe skipping the drink and collecting their pretty postcards would be the healthiest choice!
Each card is typical antique size, of about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
To see all cards in the series, use Phoscao in the word search box.
