Preserving Paris's historical past wouldn't be complete without at least one absinthe bar! And so here André Renoux gives us one in green, with lovely Art Nouveau lettering and a unique scalloped edge awning. Just for the record: absinthe has made a comeback. It's reputation as the hallucinogenic "Green Fairy" has been scientifically debunked. It is a highly alcoholic beverage, but no trippin' involved.
Unused. Overall fine vintage condition save slightest hints of corner wear. Looking straight on, almost mint. When held at an angle, a half-inch superficial (not visible verso) crease can be seen as well as a bit of writing impression. Circa 1980s-1990s. About 5.75 by 4-1/8 inches.

André Renoux (1939-2002) is considered the "father" of the Paris School of Urban Realism. You may have seen Renoux's Paris shop scenes on Williams Sonoma plates. His original limited-edition serigraphs sell anywhere from $600 to $2,000. Although these postcards are not my usual antique fare, Renoux's postcards are difficult to find and are highly collectible. From what I can ascertain, there are approximately 70 cards in this collection of Renoux's work.
