André Renoux (1939-2002) is considered the "father" of the Paris School of Urban Realism. This card features a store called L'Accroche-Coeur offering posters, plaques and enameled signs. I tried to locate this shop in Paris but it apparently no longer is in business. The name of the shop is a French expression meaning "heart-catching" or "hooked heart." A wonderful play on words for a store that sells art decor to hang on your wall!
Mailed in 1997. Shows some wear at the corner tips as to be expected for a card 21 years old that's been through modern mail machinery! Glue residue at top from postage strip. About 5.75 by 4-1/8 inches.
UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE -- I have two of these available and both are written on verso. One is franked 1997 and the other 1992. When you put in your purchase order, if you have a preference, make a note of which one. Merci!

You may have seen Renoux's Paris shop scenes on Williams Sonoma plates. His original limited-edition serigraphs sell anywhere from $600 to $2,000. From what I can ascertain, there are approximately 70 cards in this collection of Renoux's work.
