André Renoux (1939-2002) is considered the "father" of the Paris School of Urban Realism. This card features a florist shop called Les Jardins du Marais (Gardens of the Marais). I didn't have any success in locating this business in Paris; a four-star hotel bears the same name but no flower shops. However, the Marais district in Paris is one that has changed considerably since Renoux painted this scene (circa 1980s-1990s). Compared to the other cards in Renoux's series, it is more mellow with its light green-yellow awning. But almost always a touch of red in Renoux's paintings and same here. Unused. Virtually no surface wear but some corner tip wear. About 5.75 by 4-1/8 inches.
