This is a rare Art Deco fashion postcard bearing the signature of a mystery artist named Ani-Tah. It's always a delight to discover a new artist but also very frustrating when there is nary a line of biographical information about that artist. Such is the case for Ani-Tah. In fact, the stark absence of any hint of details about this artist makes me rather suspicious that it's a pseudonym. The only clue I've been able to ascertain is that Ani-Tah is possibly a Czech name. Considering that postcards were produced in the billions before WWI, it is quite a feat to do a Google word search or image search and come up empty handed. In the last 2-3 years, I have seen one eBay listing for an Ani-Tah print and I've come across one antique auction site that offered 3 of her postcards designs in a lot. And of course, there is the one other Ani-Tah card I have listed (link below).

Moderner Kunst-Verlag of Berlin, also known as MKB, has an established reputation in the industry that goes back to the Golden Age of Postcards and quality printing is evident in this card despite the signs of age, which I'm guess-timating to be from the late teens or early 1920s. A fine fashion art card indeed with the gold metallic highlights on her gown, the Chinese red vase and the frame about her torso and head. bodice. The black in the gown is a flat, matte. The best I can describe the background paper is a pale beige with overtones of pink. I've included several photos as well as the direct scan. Paper layers separated about an inch into the right side of the card. Glue spots verso. Stains on background beige-pink. Top left corner creased. The fashion art design itself is beautifully preserved.

This card is typical antique size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. Unused.
Please note: due to the rarity of this postcard, insurance is required.

The second card I have featuring Art Deco fashion by Ani-Tah is listed here: https://www.rubylane.com/item/274812-8006/Unused-Art-Deco-High-Fashion-Artist
