I hesitated to put this antique postcard in the Artist Signed category because the minuscule logo in the far left corner looks like AG, not Anna Whelan Betts' signature at all. However, one look and any Betts' fan will recognize "Christmas Callers," which appeared in the 1904 issue of The Century Magazine. Here her work has been reproduced by M.M. Vienne of Austria in postcard format; the color saturation and quality is excellent indeed. This postcard is unused and in overall mint condition. There are some errant white specks on one of the gentleman caller's black jacket but these appear to be inherent to the printing. Typical antique postcard size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. I have four of these available as you can see in the last two photos. Remember: if you buy more, you can save more! See the details on my home page.
It is interesting to compare these versions of the Vienne cards with those from the Polish Count's collection. I have several featuring both the art of Anna and her sister Ethel. Use Betts or Count in the word search box to see them all.
