This real photo postcard by Walery of Paris has lots of metallic gold pigment accents. While I love all those painted details added by hand, it wreaks havoc trying to capture what a postcard actually looks like. Please trust me (and that's easy to do because I have a satisfaction guaranteed policy) when I say that this is one of the best quality versions of this card I've ever seen. The black cape is a flat black with the gold squiggle accents painted along the edge. The 'puppy paw' spots are not near as outstanding as the direct scan shows. Even the photos don't do justice. Push yourself away from your computer screen by 2-3 feet and you'll have a better idea of how lovely this card is in hand. Her light blue harlequin outfit is likewise dotted with gold accents. The card is unused with no creases. The undivided back tells us this was printed in 1903 or earlier. Typical antique postcard size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
