We call her Joan of Arc. The French call her "John Dar" with a soft "J." Surely any French postcard collection must have at least one stunning example of the "protège la France." This card is definitely such an example. A real photo with a colorful studio backdrop, painted by hand in mauve tones and a touch of blue. Someone noted the date, June 27, 1909, but verso, this card is unused. Overall, near mint condition. Almost an insult to point out wear at the corner tip. Typical antique postcard size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
