This Art Deco Italian-printed postcard is signed by the artist Ambart, but unfortunately as is the case with many painters and illustrators, there is no information about him/her. This artist is acknowledged in the French postcard "Bible," Les Meilleures Cartes Postales d'Illustrateurs by Neudin, but other than the name, no details available. What we do know is that this postcard is in overall unused mint condition with bold, richly saturated colors, in a most charming design of a lady gathering purple flower petals in the fold of her blue gown while her beau (or is he the driver?) back at the carriage reads a book. This card has no surface wear. Any "imperfections" you see are inherent to the printing, including the light blue ink smudges on the left border. Deckled edge, this card is circa 1920s-1930s. "Antique" postcard size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
