French artist Gaston Bussière (1862-1928) was a French Symbolist painter. Compare this fantasy scene of a butterfly fairy sitting on a flower petal to another one of his works I have listed here: https://www.rubylane.com/item/274812-8287/Vibrant-Antique-French-Art-Reproduction-Postcard
This card is not postally sent but I feel confident in saying it is an antique, considering the undivided back verso, which was the law until 1904. The sender says to Mademoiselle Frida "Allow me to offer you this gift as a souvenir of June 11th." Google and I can't translate the last line coherently, but in essence, the sender says (I think:) "accept this knowing it was given to you with a good heart." And is that signature from a Monsieur Pradal. Dare we say "Oh la la"? This card is a tad oversized for an antique card; about 3.75 inches by just over 5.5 inches. Album corners have left impressions and light signs of age on the postcard edges; errant specks. But it's Gaston Bussière and it's magical!
Please note: I usually include photos taken at natural daylight as well as a scan to attempt to capture the details and colors for you. Since computer monitors and color calibration often vary, the card in hand may not be exactly the tones you see here, but it will be somewhere in between and definitely beautiful.
