Although this is a French Christmas postcard (Joyeux Noel embossed at the top right corner) the scene isn't typical for the holidays. What really grabs the eye are those fur-trimmed blue-tinted shoes! I don't know about you, but what immediately springs to my mind is that age-old desire the young have to grow up way too fast! Maybe this little girl just wants Pere Noel to fill those shoes up with goodies, but I get overtones of a wanting to play dress up and look like Momma from this darling scene. She has a candle stick in her other hand, as she stands in the upholstered chair, colorful flowers propped along side her. This card has virtually no surface wear. At first glance, it appears to be in near mint condition save for the wear at the corner tips. But there is a light scratch to the left of her left knee and a printing flaw has left a light line running down her right leg. Push yourself away from the computer monitor about 2-3 feet and you'll see that, with the naked eye, this card is still a heart-touching charmer! Superb photography. Written on verso; circa 1904-1910. Typical antique postcard size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
