Postcards and mysteries pretty much go hand in hand. This gouache floral still life is not signed or dated. Amateurish, with the charm of naïf art, the only "clue" to give some history or context to this card is the F.M. verso in the stamp box. That stands for French military franchise. Based on my online research, I'd date this to WWII ( I found a similar card hand-dated 1940.) What I'm not clear about is if family members could use these cards or if only the military personnel. If so, where was this soldier stationed that s/he had a bowl of roses to paint?:) Perhaps this was an unused card left over from the war time? The size of the card is 4 by 5.5 inches.
