This is a vintage pair of adjustable aluminum shoe stretchers advertising Raoul shoes (chaussures) of Paris, a company that has been in business since the turn of the century. Based on online research, I'm thinking these shoe trees date from perhaps around the 1920s. As you can see in the photo, there are still a few notches in the steel shank to extend the length, but I don't believe that screw is gonna budge:) As is, each piece measures just under 9 inches long and about 2.75 inches across. Some scratching and signs of age, but overall simply delightfully chic. I can envision these tied together with some fancy ribbon and hanging on the wall for that Paris Apartment look.
