Italian sculptor Mastroianni made sculptochromes popular, so it was only natural that imitators would follow and enlarge upon his idea. While Mastroianni photographed his works created solely in clay, this unnamed artist combined sculpture with other 3-D elements: fake flowers, wings and fabric to create a heavenly scene. Three angels take center stage while a supplicant sits below. The faux flowers have been color tinted pink by hand. Size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. Mailed from Belgium; franked but not readable. However, I feel confident in dating this card to pre-WWI. The glossy finish shows some surface wear, but overall, this card is in fine antique condition. No creases. The direct scans convey the color more accurately; the photograph taken at natural daylight makes it look lighter. Produced by ARS of Paris. As shown in the last photo, this is one of three angelic sculptochrome "montages" I have available. This one is the rarest. The other two are listed separately.
