This rosary is a souvenir of the Basilica of Our Lady of Montligeon located in La Chapelle-Montligeon: about an hour's drive west of Chartres, and about two and a half hours east of Rennes, where this rosary was purchased at the second largest flea market in France. The basilica, built between 1894 to 1911, is a renown for its dedication to prayer for the dead, to Our Lady, the Liberator of Souls in Purgatory. The back side of the cross notes its souvenir origins as well as the center medal. Adding to the charm and uniqueness of this rosary is the large 1.25 inch medal from Notre Dame du Bon Conseil. Online research compounded the mystery all the more: there is a village in Quebec with this name as well as a couple of locations in France. This round medal is attached at the top of the rosary. I'm far from being an expert on rosaries, but I believe the 59 beads are boxwood. They show minor signs of age; overall this rosary is in fine vintage condition. The bead strands hang 13 inches and from the top of the center medal to the tip of the cross is another 7 inches.
