Here are three placards of Haute Nouveauté (Top Novelty) antler buttons, which have been stuck together with a stick pin. I'm offering them as is, all 6 buttons. It seems a shame to separate them after all these decades held together.
I bought these buttons from a woman at a flea market in Rennes, France. Although not positive about the dating of the collection, she said the buttons were inherited from her aunt and she believed they were from around the 1960s. I do apologize for my lack of further information, but that's about all I could learn with my limited French.
Antler buttons are something very new and foreign to me, so I'm going to have to let the photos do the talking. When I first got them, I hadn't a clue they were made from animal horns. The texture and uniqueness of each button is absolutely amazing. The first photo, a direct scan, most accurately captures the true color of the placards and the buttons. The buttons are thick and huge; each one about 1.25 inches wide and about an eighth of an inch deep.
