For the sports collector, the Eiffel Tower postcard on the left is a sweet piece of history. The streamer of flags represent the many nations who participated in the FSGT's international sporting competition in May 1948. The Fédération Sportive et Gymnique du Travail (FSGT) is still active today. The sport federation was created in 1934 by merging two different sports groups, one a Communist Socialist group. The Wiki page about the FSGT is in French and the English translation is not the best but Wiki says FSGT "is affiliated to the Socialist Workers' Sport International and the French National Olympic and Sports Committee." Even a non-sports person can appreciate the historical aspects of a uniting event occurring shortly after the catastrophe of WWII. Also, for the Eiffel Tower collector, this is a rare one. Verso, note that the message is written in Spanish. Perhaps the sender was a participant at the sports event?
The other fun Eiffel Tower postcard is postmarked 1952. The nude male statue rather upstages the Iron Lady! Each card is about 3.5 by 5.5 inches and in overall fine vintage condition.
