These five antique French postcards tell the story of Bobette's dinner party. She has invited her doll, Mademoiselle Catiche and her dog, Monsieur Pierrot. Things are going along just fine until Mr. Raton the Cat crashes the party! This is a charming Edwardian series dating to 1903 or earlier (undivided back). It is unused and it is complete. To find the complete series in such overall fine condition is a rarity. I've included scans and photos to show the handpainting, the details and the fact that these cards have virtually no surface wear. There is a speck on the girl's forehead above her nose on Card No. IV and Card No. V has a slight superficial crease around the girl's head (the crease is not visible verso). Each card is about 5.5 by 3.5 inches.
Note: the photos taken in natural daylight at a window make the cards look whiter than they are. The direct scans more accurately convey the warm, creamy off-white of the background.
