I have listed this postcard in the Valentine's category because it would make a perfect one. Flowers, red ribbons, hearts and a mini-envelope to hold a secret love note. What's not romantic about this card? Published in Austria with a divided back dates this card to 1904 or later. The Bicaults didn't date their "best wishes" note, but I feel confident in saying this card is pre-WWI. For accurate colors, please note the direct scan: deep red ribbon, creamy white, blue-green marbleized design. The 'gold leaf' on the envelope edges doesn't show up well, but you'll be delighted with this beauty once in hand. Typical antique postcard size: about 5.5 by 3.5 inches. Since verso is unused, the charm of this exceptional card is that it could be re-used for a special Valentine, birthday, anniversary or wedding gift accompaniment.
