This is one of three Snam postcards I have available. The other two are listed separately. This one is extra special, I think, because of the poem written verso. Note the date: Mai 10, 1923. I haven't tried to translate all of it but from the last line alone, I'd say the sender echoes the sad sentiments on front. The French text says: Alone and sad ... It rains in my heart like it rains in the city!!!
I must point out that I love those triple exclamation points!
Snam is recognized by Neudin's "The best postcards of illustrators" [Les Meilleures Cartes postales d'Illustrateurs] but no biographical information is given at all. Not one word. Self-published in Belgium, perhaps he wanted to remain anonymous!?
Size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. This card shows hints of age but overall, it is in excellent condition.
