This is one of several opera-themed postcards I have from Wagner's 'The Ring of the Nibelung' series. This is one of three that were apparently collected and stored together based on the stain verso. (See the last photo of the trio; the other two cards are listed separately.)
This card features Siegfried from Wagner's Ring Cycle.
This card is unused. Although there is no artist signature, based on the style and the others in this series, this is likely the work of Austrian artist Heinrich Hans Schlimarski (1859-1913). Size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. No printer's logo verso, although the rest of the printing is exactly like the Mermaids' card which specifically bears the clover symbol of Black & Schmidt publishers of Vienna, Austria. Also, this card bears the same blue-green tones as the Mermaids card with pink hand-detailed highlights.
I have included a direct scan as well as photo. The natural daylight makes the colors lighter than the actual card but I like to include both for detail.
This card has no creases but shows wear around the edges, typical of an antique card.
