The Joyeux Noel greeting is French, of course, as well as the message penned verso. But it's a Sofia Chiostri postcard and in my book, that makes it mostly Italian! This is one of two of her Christmas designs which are hard to come by. As is true of all of Chiostri's card, this one is printed in Italy, by Ballerini & Fratini of Florence. Size is about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. This card also has the rich linen-like texture, which gives it the feel and appearance of a higher end, better quality printing. Note the generous metallic gold detailing
There are a couple of specks visible in the blue background that look like lint and you keep wanting to pick it off ... :) In overall excellent condition for its age. Note the sender dated it Dec. 21, 1928.
Chiostri was born in Florence, Italy, in 1898; her father Carlo gained fame as the illustrator of the first Pinocchio book.
