Perhaps you have seen one or two of these cards, but to have the complete series is a rare feat. These are real photo postcards that have been colorized by hand, depicting a little girl's adventure with butterflies. First impression, she's a bit afraid, but soon she takes to the butterflies and is quite enamored with them, offering them some candy! She tames one and captures it.
One card has a light crease at the top left quadrant; another at the top right corner. A couple have foxing spots that come through to the front. Some ink stains on a couple; surface wear on the glossy finish as to be expected. But overall, for their age (franked 1905 and 1906), this series is in pretty good antique condition. Remember, too, that direct scans are brutal, showing up every spec and dust mite that the naked eye can't even see. Her rosy cheeks and expressive face are charming. The fake butterflies are charming their own kitschy way, too:)
Each card is about 5.5 by 3.5 inches.
