In about 15 years of selling and collecting antique French postcards, I've never come across a card like this one. Love it when I can say that! One of the thrills of postcard collecting is the endless variety. And here we have that famous, scandalous ballerina, Mademoiselle Cleo de Merode paired with a photo of a romantic couple. Mon dieu, but I don't know that she'd appreciate sharing the stage with such a humble pair, a couple of country lovers:)
Mailed to Olga in Paris in 1907, this embossed silver card has a rich texture. The French text at bottom means "token of precious friendship." Size: about 5.5 by 3.5 inches. Slightest hints of wear at the corner tips; overall, excellent antique condition.
