This is a real photo postcard produced by a Paris photography studio. I don't recognize their unique logo but the quality and detail in their postcard is impressive. No dropcloth fake backgrounds and kitcshy props here. A little girl (her dress color tinted blue) stands next to a wooden Victorian bird cage almost as tall as she is. She is surrounded by various toys and holiday decorations, even musical instruments, too. There's a building block set, a train, a tennis racket, just to name a few of the items that come together to create a realistic Christmas celebration scene. Blue, pink and dabs of green color tinting have been added here and there. I love the way she shyly puts her hand up to her mouth.
The French greeting embossed in metallic gold at the top says Happy New Year.
This card has a glossy finish. It is lightly creased at the bottom left where the holiday decorations are. The bottom right corner tip is also creased. However, verso you'll notice the bold and clear cancellation mark dating this card to 1908. So, for its age, this card is in pretty good antique condition.
Size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
