This antique real photo postcard is irresistibly kitschy, depicting a toddler inside a floral-studded cupboard. And it's in 'incroyable' condition (unbelievable). With the naked eye, this card looks to be in almost mint condition with virtually no surface wear. I found a scratch but that was only using my jeweler's loupe. The hand-painted colors are bold. When held at an angle, there's a hint of silvering. But, I'm not exaggerating when I say you'll think this card was printed yesterday, and yet, it bears a 1908 franking.
The French text at the bottom, says, as best as I can decipher: A baby for two sous (ancient French currency), it's not really expensive. I would (buy it) for the certain happiness of one momma.
The sender added a Joyous Noel note; this card was mailed Dec. 23, 1908.
Produced by A.N. Paris -- that's the well known photographer Alfred Noyer.
Size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
