Henry sent this French Happy New Year (Bonne Annee) postcard to Juliette, likely sometime before World War I.
It is a sepia photo that has not only been color-tinted by hand, but a butterfly has been painted on freehand also.
Overhead photos such as this one, of an Edwardian woman with her head on a pillow -- this is a common pose. But that butterfly on her shoulder makes this one a little bit more special.
Size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. No creases. Slight surface wear. Overall, for its age, in fine antique condition.
