This antique French postcard is one of those mystery cards with no artist or publisher information printed. In fact, I only call it a French postcard because it was mailed to Madeleine in Paris from Nice on Jan. 25, 1911. The card could actually have been printed in Germany or elsewhere in Europe.
How ironic that a card illustrating communication tells us so little! If I were writing a caption for this couple, it would be: clear communication between a man and a woman is a tall order!
Rich colors in this illustration are set against an off-white cream background. I have included photos, also, to show the signs of wear: corner tips worn, a postal franking impression and a line of dotted impressions. Nonetheless, for its age and especially with a light background, this card is in overall very good antique condition. Also, my online research leads me to believe that it is a rare card, not common at all, and would be a fine one to add to a collection.
Size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
