Julienne sent this "jolie carte" (pretty postcard) to her friend in Calais, France, in 1905. It is a montage combining what looks to be a foil or marbled background with an inset circle of a woman's portrait. I don't know if she's a Belle Epoque celebrity but she's beautiful with her long curly hair and porcelain skin. Her doe eyes are Kolh-rimmed and just a hint of color has been added by hand on her lips and cheeks. Album impressions at the corners explain the well preserved condition of this glossy card. No creases. Size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches
