This artist-signed postcard depicts a little girl in high fashion, likely trying on Mother's gown. It's a billowy yellow dress with small red and pink rosettes and gold leaves. The hem of the dress also has gold highlights. The top bodice/scarf is double-sided with the rosette designs and a green geometric print. The girl's toys -- a doll and a stuffed dog -- lay on the floor while she models in front of the mirror. The only thing bigger than her innocent blue eyes is the pink bow in her hair. Douky is one of those artists who left behind wonderful designs in the Art Deco era, circa 1920s, but nothing about his/her personal life is known. This card has a softly deckled watercolor paper edge. A few light stains on the cream background but nothing so distracting to take away from the charm of the little girl playing grown up. Overall, fine vintage condition. Size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
