Stamped front and back, this French postcard of roses is a tactile delight. Deeply embossed fabric roses in shades of pink and fuchsia are set against an off white fabric background. I'm not sure but I think it is satin. Metallic gold hand-detailing accents the leaves. The combination comes together to create a shimmering bouquet. The card shows slight signs of age. Considering that it was mailed in 1905 and is made of fabric, it is incredible condition! Album impressions and a black speck/worn patch on one rose petal can be seen. On the right edge about 3 inches down there is a line that looks like a crease but actually from what I can tell, it is a small 'hump' from the cardstock layer where do pieces of paper have overlapped. Typical antique postcard size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. This beauty deserves to be framed in a shadow box. This is one of two postcards listed that were mailed to Marie in Calais. The other card is just as tactile and 3-D also. Check it out here: http://www.rubylane.com/item/274812-7816/Embossed-Frame-Fur-Antique-Novelty-Postcard
