This French postcard carries "Wishes of Happiness" (Voeux de Bonheur) from an Edwardian couple posing inside a huge oval wreath covered with mistletoe and holly. This card is a fine example of turn-of-the-century montage, combining a real photo by LeNormand Photography, with enhanced studio props. Gold metallic paint hand-detailing have been added along with the colorization. Verso, the card is postally used and hand-dated Jan. 2, 1908. Notice that the sender made that same mistake we all do at the new year, initially writing 1907 and then covering up the 7 with a swirling 8! Size: about 5.5 by 3.5 inches. For its age and especially with the light background, this card is in near mint condition. It is, simply put, a stand-out for quality.
