Marie Louise mailed this real photo postcard to Louis in Bordeaux at the turn of the century. The franking on the green French postage stamp has faded but it likely pre-WWI. Bonne Annee in metallic gold letters offer happy new year greetings. But the greeting seems to fade into the background as all eyes are focused on the charming scene of the chubby-cheeked toddler staring straight into the camera -- instead of at the food being offered to her. Pastel hints of hand coloring: blue on the chair behind the young girl holding the spoon, pink on her dress and pink in the background flowers. This card has a glossy finish, some specks and spots and typical surface wear. But no creases and as darling as ever. Typical antique postcard size: about 5.5 by 3.5 inches.
