This trio of postcards each feature a lovely lady, circa 17th century, with one or more sheep, wearing lavish costumes, set against bold, busy floral backgrounds. The greetings on the front of each card is in German offering Happy Easter and/or Best Easter Greetings. The publisher on the back is listed as JOBST, which my online research connects with Vienna, Austria, and dates the cards to the turn of the century, pre-WWI. Two of the cards have creases and the white borders show some signs of age. But the designs are stunning and the cards are rare. In my 10+ years of collecting, I've never come across this design. I don't know if it's an imitation of Mela Kohler's style with the busy patterned background or what. These cards are a bit of a mystery! But the colors are rich and they are an eye-catching trio. Each card is just over 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
