This is a French happy new year postcard which has sweet Christmas overtones with the holly/mistletoe climbing up the sign. An Edwardian child holding a letter stands at the Crossroads of Fortune. Technically, since the child is wearing pants, I believe this is a boy, but if you thought this long-haired cutie in pink was a girl, that's fine, too. Color tinted by hand, this real photo postcard bears a sweet note verso. The sender is writing about the surprise of finding a gift of bonbons waiting for her upon returning home to Roche. No date, but likely 1904-1914. Size: about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. No creases; light soiling noticeable at bottom right but overall in fine antique condition for its age.
