The wings may not be real, but the photos are. Both of these French Christmas postcards have been painstakingly handpainted with extra highlights and accents in white paint and in metallic gold. The card of the two angels, the older holding a basket of toys, is franked 1910 and the other one, the nativity scene, is 1912. For their age, both of these cards are in remarkable condition. There is a pencil mark extending down from the older angel's hand on the white dotted card. Slightest signs of wear at the corner tips and edges, but very little surface wear. Each card is about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
