This piece of ephemera is a bit of a mystery. Just under 5.25 by 3.5 inches, it is not actually a postcard. It is written on verso but no postcard markings. Just penciled in lines the sender drew to write her note. (Renee is making arrangements to meet Madeleine on Thursday.) There are pencil marks at the bottom left corner, which is also creased. A light crease about center right an inch in. This card is often attributed to Raphael Kirchner. I believe it to be more accurately in his style or the style of Patella; i.e. very Art Nouveau. An intriguing artistic style giving depth to a monochrome illustration.
