These three Sofia Chiostri (1898-1945; b.Florence, Italy) postcards are stained and are not my usual high quality postcards. But ... they are Chiostri! The linen-like gray background shows stains but the colors in the dresses are as bold as ever. My favorite is the cranberry red and pink dress. That card has a slight crease at the top right corner. The other two cards are not creased. Two of the cards have Sofia's signature but the green and pink dress card doesn't. A mystery I can't explain. Verso, you will see that at one time these cards were apparently glued into someone's album. Emile sent all of these cards with sweet words and kisses. No date but Chiostri's cards are generally from the art deco years, circa 1920s and '30s. All of Chiostri's postcards were printed in Italy by Ballerini & Fratini of Florence. This trio all bear the numbers 31 and 213. Each card measures about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
