This art nouveau French postcard was mailed to Monaco with a message as sweet as the lady on the front is beautiful: With this gracious smile I send you the assurances of my highest consideration. Signed "Victor." The franking is faded but I can barely make out a 1908 date. This card stands out not so much for its Mucha-style design, which was copied by many imitators and admirers, but the fact that it is rendered in turquoise. The pastel turquoise is accented with bright red and light yellow-green accents applied by hand. A charming composite of real photo and illustration. The card has a glossy finish; measures about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. Note the Croissant Paris half moon logo at the bottom right. The bottom corner tips show wear; the right one is creased. Overall: fine antique condition considering its age!
