Mailed in 1906, this card bears greetings from Barbazan, a small place in the Midi-Pyrenees region close to the Spanish border. As mentioned in other Multiple Babies' listings, these montage postcards often included older children, too, and not just babies. This card in particular features a mostly older group of kids: playing musical instruments in the tree (with chamber pot in free hand) playing on the seesaw (while also sitting on the chamber pot!) The combination of the boy who's just gotten off the pot and the girl next to him with a pair of binoculars is an odd combination, but then ... these collages are often filled with many surprises.
Size: just over 3.5 by 5.5 inches. In overall fine antique condition. Signs of age and wear around the corners and edges are to be expected for something 108 years old!
Although no printer's marks, this card is German made; Series No. 407. A quality colored chromolithograph!
