This listing is for an 18th century Marquise beauty in a peachy pink, one of four I have listed in the Meissner & Buch's "Künstler Postkarten/Artist Postcard" series No. 1523. Printed in Germany, this series is entitled "Schönheiten aus alter zeit" -- Beauties of Olden Times.
I've included a group scan of all four in case you are contemplating how they would look together matted and framed:)
Like the others, there are some noticeable light specks, mostly on the right side of her hair. I try to be very nit-picky in describing my postcards, but despite the specks, I still would grade this one as in overall fine antique condition. Circa 1910, it is made of heavy duty card stock; size about 3.5 by 5.5 inches and the matte finish has almost no surface wear. Meissner & Buch had a reputation of producing some of the finest lithograph postcards before World War I. More than 100 years later and the lasting richness of the colors back up that reputation!
The other three in this series are listed here: http://www.rubylane.com/item/274812-7467/18th-Century-Marquise-Lady-BLUE
UPDATE: One of the ladies in blue and the purple lady have already sold. If you'd like the complete collection, I'd be happy to work my French connections and see what I can do.
