This is a rare and humorous series of 4 antique French postcards depicting a man having happy dreams of a cancan dancer. She is a real cutie in her bright green and pink ruffled dress. The man's expressions are priceless! This series of postcards was mailed in 1906. The sender scribbled his/her initials on the back AND on the front! The cards show wear on the glossy surface (more so when held at an angle). Please note: I wasn't able to photograph these because my reflection shows up on the glossy surface. I have posted a group scan where the background looks exceptionally dark, almost black. In the individual scans, the scanner is totally brutal. Looking at the cards with the naked eye, one sees some scuffle marks, white specks and creased corner tips. In hand, I think you will be impressed and find the signs of wear do not detract from the charm. These photos created by hand, the old fashioned cut and paste method by a 'photo retoucher', trump any signs of age! Each card measures about 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
